PHP sponsors “Healthy Beginnings Super Saturday”
LANSING, Mich. – Physician Health Plan (PHP) is teaming up with Lansing’s Impressions 5 Science Center to provide children ages 4-12 a day of exploration and learning about healthy living.
On Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., PHP is sponsoring “Healthy Beginnings Super Saturday,” at the Impression 5 Science Center, 200 Museum Drive, Lansing. This unique event offers interactive exhibits and hands-on fun where children learn about safety, medication, and healthy fast food choices.
“We are very excited to partner with Impression 5 to offer this fun and learning event,” said Julia Griffith, PHP’s Director of Medical Resource and Quality Management. “In addition to all the dynamic interactive displays we will have the principal of Haslett Middle School talking about bullying, the Lansing police talking about Internet safety, and students from the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine performing mini-physicals. There is literally something for everyone.” The event offers free health assessments, vision screenings, and car seat and bike helmet fitting. McDonald’s restaurants’ “Street Team” will be on hand to provide apple dippers and healthy information. Participants also can enter to win a Wii and Wii Fit. Physicians Health Plan members, Sparrow Physician Health Network members and Sparrow associates enjoy free admission. General admission is $4.
For more information about this event, call Julia Griffith, (517) 364-8324.
