VanEtten earns peer recognition

Fowler resident Cortney VanEtten, a three-year Associate, has been named the Clinton Memorial Hospital May/June Healthcare Hero.

This prestigious award is presented only six times a year. Healthcare Heroes are nominated by their peers based on criteria defined in the Sparrow Health System Pillars of Excellence, which include people, service, resources, quality and growth.

VanEtten, an Administrative Assistant to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Price, was nominated for her outstanding positive attitude as well as her exceptional support of the leadership team and dedication to service.

“Cortney does an excellent job in her day-to-day responsibilities,” said Kevin Price, Clinton Memorial Hospital Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “She always is willing to go that extra mile to help someone and ensure their success. This award exemplifies Cortney’s caring attitude, professionalism, team focus and positive influence on others.”

A graduate of St. Johns High School and Lansing Community College with a general associate’s degree, VanEtten also serves as a Service Excellence Advisor (SEA) at Clinton Memorial. SEAs act as role models and departmental representatives for their peers. These Associates continually explore options to enhance working relationships, resources and quality of care at the hospital.

“I am honored and humbled to be recognized as a Clinton Memorial Hospital Healthcare Hero,” said VanEtten. “We have such a great team of amazingly caring and hardworking Associates. It is a privilege to work with them.”

VanEtten’s hobbies include playing volleyball and golf, snowmobiling, boating and building sandcastles with her 1-year-old son, Cole.

She and her husband, Abraham, and son, Cole, share their home with canine companion, Murdock, and six horses.
